Last Friday saw the closure of the time for public consultation on the new septic tank guidelines. The consultation process looked for submissions from members of the public on the issue before the final guidelines were laid down. According to the Department of Environment, it doesn’t expect to have registration up and running until the middle of April at the earliest and from that launch the €5 registration fee will apply for three months. It did not close last week as was reported in an article in this paper in last Friday, March 30 edition.
