Progress on the Corrib gas project is satisfactory with the final phase – the construction of the onshore pipeline between Glengad and the Bellanaboy Bridge gas terminal - well under way, according to an update from Shell E&P Ireland Limited.
Ancillary works are now going ahead at both Aughoose and Glengad with construction traffic, especially in relation to Glengad, noted as a cause of concern for some locals.
Over the summer, a programme of offshore work, mainly at the Corrib Field, will get underway and will include maintenance of the wells and subsea installations, following the arrival in Mayo of a Light Well Intervention Vessel.
First gas from the Corrib Field is expected late 2014/early 2015.
