Mick Flannery and band to play intimate ruby room gig

In the last couple of years Mick Flannery has gone from part-time stonemason from Cork to one of Ireland’s most sought after musicians, having just released his new single ‘Gone Forever’ in February, and his third album, Red to Blue, at the end of last month. That album a follow-up to the hugely praised White Lies in support of which he played a string of sold out shows all over Ireland, one of the most notable being a double headline show at the Marquee Cork with John Spillane. He will be stopping off in the Ruby Room at the Royal Theatre on Thursday, April 26 for a very special intimate show at 10pm.

Flannery is a refreshingly unassuming artist whose sole focus seems to be on his craft, song-writing. A Mick Flannery gig has a feeling of intimacy to it; Flannery’s stage presence exudes no superficial gimmicks, just a man sharing his songs in an understated but powerful manner.

His current band is made up of Mick Flannery as lead vocals, piano and guitar, Karen O’Doherty on violin and vocals, Yvonne Daly also on vocals, Hugh Dillon on electric guitar, and Brian Hassett on bass.

Tickets cost €20 for Mick Flannery at the Ruby Room in the Royal Theatre, are on sale and are available from the royal box office on 0818 300 000 or 094 9023111. Also from www.Royaltheatre.ie or ticketmaster.ie
