A Ballina woman was convicted, fined, and disqualified at this week’s sitting of Ballina District Court.
Garda Pat O’Hora stopped Bridget Collins, 32 Dolmen View, Ballina, driving on Bury Street, Ballina, on October 4 2011 at 1.40pm.
A two-year-old child who in the front passenger seat was not restrained. The defendant told the garda that the child was “contrary” and would not sit in the child seat which was in the back seat of the car.
Collins, who was not in court or represented, has one previous conviction. She was convicted and fined €300 by Judge Mary Devins and disqualified from driving for one year.
