Major photographic exhibition in Foxford

Twenty of Mayo’s top photographers from the Mayo Photographic Club are due to exhibit examples of their work at a major photography exhibition to be held in Foxford during the month of April. The exhibition is being held at Foxford Woollen Mills and will be officially opened by local artist Harry Feeney at 4pm on Sunday April 1.

The chairman of the club, Westport based Michael Gannon, said: “This exhibition gives us an opportunity to showcase our work and will, hopefully, at the same time encourage anyone in Mayo that may be interested in photography to consider joining the club.”

The exhibition will feature photographs of all types including landscapes, portraits, still life, and abstract. Among those to exhibit is Castlebar-based Frank Fullard, who has a growing reputation for his candid portraiture and street photography. He also does landscapes and one of his exhibition pieces is called ‘Pontoon’ and shows the beautiful scenery to be found in that area.

Admission to the exhibition is free.
