Dear Editor,
I see that Cllr Al McDonnell, Fianna Fail, recently asserted that projects like the Great Western Greenway are impossible without all-expenses paid junkets for county councillors. This is beyond a joke.
If Cllr McDonnell took a trip on foot to say, secondary schools in Castlebar, he’d have got ideas for the disused rail line just as quick.
It’s sad to see that the ‘wasters’ mentality is alive and well in Áras an Chontae.
