Council to boost business in Westport

A stimulus proposal for businesses in Westport was up for discussion at the Westport Town Council meeting last night, Thursday March 9. The stimulus proposal is to encourage the occupation of vacant commercial premises in the town and aims to support local enterprise, retail initiative, and employment through the proactive encouragement of innovation and entrepreneurship.

There are two elements envisaged in the stimulus proposal:

A pop up shop scheme and new businesses incentive scheme for vacant commercial premises, targeted at commercial premises which have been vacant for at least six months.
