Bonniconlon mourns the death of Donal Neary

The 19-year-old Bonniconlon man who was fatally injured in the early hours of Sunday morning has been laid to rest.

Donal Neary, Carracrum, Bonniconlon, Ballina was killed when the car he was driving collided with a tree at Bonniconlon shortly after 1am on Sunday morning.

The apprentice electrician was the sole occupant of the BMW car he was driving and was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed on Sunday while Gardaí forensically examined the scene to determine the cause of the crash.

Donal was the second eldest child of Joe and Kathleen Neary, a well-known family for their involvement in sport and music. He is survived by his parents, brother Enda, sisters Ruth and Roisin. His neighbours, relatives and many friends have been laying flowers at the scene of this terrible tragedy.
