This Monday, February 27, in the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, at 8.30pm soccer clubs in Mayo will test their knowledge of all things football to see which team will be given the crown as Brainiest Club in Mayo.
In an effort to raise much needed funds for the Irish Hospice Foundation, clubs are invited to sent teams of four (club members ) to compete against their on-field rivals in an all football table quiz. Each club is allowed to send a maximum of two teams, made up of four club members each. Each team costs €50 to enter. All money raised on the night will go directly to the Irish Hospice Foundation. There will be 100 questions on the night encompassing the League of Ireland, English league football, the World Cup, European football, and some novelty questions thrown in for good measure. The winners on the night will be presented with a Mayo Crystal trophy for the Brainiest Club in Mayo. They will also receive a keg of Bulmers for their local pub, with lots of other prizes up for grabs on the night.
