Coláiste Cholumba, an Irish summer college located in Connemara Gaeltacht, is offering a recession-busting two week course with the advantages of the three week course but at a much reduced rate of €570.
Students can experience all the spraoi, spóirt, craic and ceol while learning Irish, which has made Coláiste Cholumba a huge success for more than 40 years.
Discounts are also available on courses B and C for a limited time only.
Coláiste Cholumba offers courses graded for primary students, pre-Junior Cert and pre-Leaving Cert, with special tuition on oral examinations.

Three-week courses:
A: 04/06/12 - 26/06/12
B: 27/06/12 - 19/07/12
C: 20/07/12 - 11/08/12
14-day course:
D: 27/06/12 - 11/07/12
E: 20/07/12 - 03/08/12
These courses are inclusive of accommodation, food, tuition, sports activities, and travel. Also included are theme nights, discos, barbecues, and beach parties.
Coláiste Cholumba uses modern teaching aids as well as drama and other techniques to ensure each student has the greatest opportunity to improve his or her Irish.
Students start the day with bricfeasta at 9am followed by classes from 10.00am-12.50pm. After lunch students play sports and other activities until 4.30pm.
Afternoon activities include basketball, volleyball, netball, uni-hoc, soccer (on a state of the art astroturf pitch ), rugby, mountain biking, swimming, kayaking, rafting, orienteering, and obstacle course.
Dinner is at 5pm and from 7.30pm-9.15pm students take part in céilithe, discos, singing competitions, concerts, sketches, debates, dramas, and talent shows.
Coláiste Cholumba also runs special courses for Leaving Cert, Junior Cert, sixth class primary, and first year post primary students.
