Taste of Knockranny

This weekend (November 21 to 23 ), Knockranny House Hotel and Spa are hosting Taste of Knockranny! The event, which caters for hotel guests as well as the public on the Saturday, will showcase all the delicacies the area surrounding the hotel has to offer, with local producers exhibiting at the event, wine tastings, cocktail demonstrations and lots more!

For those treating themselves to a weekend away you will be welcomed to the hotel with a choice of delectable champagne cocktails. On Saturday morning wake up to a delicious variety of freshly baked breads and pastries, fresh fruit and a full Irish breakfast, to set up your taste buds for a day of yummy treats.

That night the hotel’s cocktail lounge will be the setting for sampling what the local area has to offer and members of the public are invited to attend. Produce from award-winning Kelly’s Butchers, Croagh Patrick Seafoods, Carrowholly Cheese and Marlene’s Chocolates will delight your taste buds, while for those who appreciate a full-bodied burgundy as much as a full-flavoured cheese, the Taste of Knockranny display will be followed by a wine tasting given by Liam Cabot of Cabot wines.

Following this you will experience a cocktail demonstration given by bar manager Owen Hughes, who will be demonstrating how to make his award-winning cocktail Raspberry Dream and the classic Mojito.

That evening, in La Fougère restaurant, a tasting menu will be created by Knockranny House Hotel’s new executive head chef, Seamus Commons, showcasing the finest flavours of the region in a series of exquisite dishes. La Fougère emphasises fresh seafood andthe finest local ingredients, and has panoramic views and a walk-through wine cellar.
