A Dunmore man was given a €100 fine for being intoxicated in a public place at Ballyhaunis District Court this week.
Garda Nicola Dolan told the court that she got a call to say a man was intoxicated on Bridge Street, Ballyhaunis, on June 30 2011 at 4.45pm. When she got to Bridge Street, she found James Mullarkey, Cloonkeen, Dunmore, face down on the footpath in a highly intoxicated state. She recognised Mullarkey from previous dealings and she put him in the back of the patrol car and brought him to his house for his own safety. Judge Devins convicted and fined Mullarkey €100.
