Business funding and support evenings for southwest Mayo

Budding entrepreneurs and individuals interested in growing or diversifying their businesses will benefit hugely from upcoming information evenings on grant aid and support, taking place around southwest Mayo. Throughout the month of February, South West Mayo Development Company will be holding several sessions specifically for individuals seeking to develop a new business or grow an existing enterprise.

South West Mayo Development Company will highlight various supports and grant aids available, with particular emphasis on enterprise development and expansion, as well as farm enterprise and service development.

Venues and dates are as follows:

Feb 13, Castlebar, the Harlequin Hotel;

Feb 15 Westport, Hotel Westport;

February 20, Claremorris, McWilliam Park Hotel

February 22, Ballinrobe, The Valkenburg, from 8pm – 9.30pm.

South West Mayo Development Company, also known as LEADER, was established in 1992 and supports individuals in the south and west Mayo region through the delivery of programmes focused on promoting economic and social development. In 2011, the organisation supported 244 businesses and communities, investing €1.2 million overall.

SWMDC also provides access to training and mentoring for start-ups and small businesses and recently held weekend business clinics with specialist mentors in accounting, marketing, PR, exporting, and strategy.

All are welcome, and project officers from SWMDC will be available at all events for one-to-one consultations regarding funding and supports available.
