South West Mayo Development Company will be highlighting various supports and grant aids available to individuals in the region, with particular emphasis on enterprise development and expansion, as well as farm enterprise and service development.
Lorraine Toner of SWMDC explains: “Our focus is on supporting and promoting enterprise development in the region –we’re always interested in hearing from individuals with viable concepts or business plans – there are several measures under which they may be eligible for support or grant aid. These information sessions will provide detail and information on all our supports. Individual project officers will be available at the events to deal with queries and answer any questions applicants may have. The current economic climate provides great opportunity and we’re here to help people explore their options. I’d really urge anyone considering starting or developing a business idea to make sure they attend.”
In addition to funding supports, SWMDC also provides access to training and mentoring for start-ups and small businesses and recently held weekend business clinics with specialist mentors in accounting, marketing, PR, exporting, and strategy.
