The 2012 St Patrick’s Day parade will take place in Westport on Saturday March 17 commencing at 3pm and the theme for this year’s parade is Teamwork – Everyone’s a winner. The theme reflects the designation of 2012 as the International Year of Co-operatives by the United Nations General Assembly.
Prizes will be awarded for the best entrants in various categories and the winners will be announced at the Octagon immediately after the parade.
Over the years the St Patrick’s Day schools’ art competition has attracted a large number of entries of an excellent standard and the winner of the competition will display his/her winning entry in the parade.
