Mayo TD and Minister of State for Tourism & Sport Michael Ring has said he is delighted to announce that work will start on upgrading the Kilbride Road this year.
“Even in these difficult times it’s a pleasure to announce that we can start work on a new road project this year. Almost 3km of the Kilbride Road will be upgraded and made safer under the NRA’s new works programme for 2012.
“There’s more good news on the way as safety and upgrade works on four other road projects will be pursued through the planning process this year.”
These roads are:
- N59 Newport to Mulranny road at Knockbreaga (1km re-alignment )
- N60 Castlebar to Balla road at Luganamuck (1.4km re-alignment )
- N60 Balla to Claremorris road at Heathlawn (3.6km re-alignment )
- N60 Castlebar to Claremorris road at Manulla (2km re-alignment ).
