Rachel Sweetman, Hakomi psychotherapist, is running another of her very popular 10 week courses on mindfulness and loving presence, starting on Tuesday January 31. Before this there will be a free introductory talk on January 24 in The Downhill House Hotel, Ballina.
Mindfulness is a practice of compassionate awareness of present moment experience, through non-judgmental witnessing. It involves linking the mind to the heart, so that we can meet our fear, anxiety, and insecurities with loving kindness. Through this practice we become more calm, confident, peaceful, and anchored in wellbeing.
The book for this course is A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson. Nelson Mandela quoted from this book in his inaugural speech as president of South Africa. Part of the quote is: “As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. As we lessen our fear through connecting with loving presence within, we tap into the huge potential for growth, healing and transformation which is at our core.”

You can also book individual sessions with Sweetman and her husband the artist Chris Doris, who has recently completed a master’s training in core process psychotherapy, which also centres on mindfulness practice. Contact Chris on 087 256 6178.
