Henaghan calls for parking break for rate payers

Fine Gael councillor Brendan Henaghan has called for a break to be given to rate payers in relation to parking charges in the town. The Castlebar based businessman was speaking at the annual budget meeting of Castlebar Town Council this week when he said: “Can we see something done on car parking for the rate payers. It would be good to give something back, to those who continue to pay their rates on time and pay up. It’s a gesture that would be appreciated by them.”

Town manager Seamus Granahan said it was something that would be looked into and ‘the new long term car park the council is planning in the town could be the right location.’
