The 52-year-old victim of a single vehicle traffic accident which occurred at Kilsallagh on January 2 was laid to rest on Thursday.
Michael Joe Gavin from Hillside, Murrisk, was a front seat passenger of a van which struck an embankment on the main Louisburgh to Westport road. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old driver and another passenger (19 ) were uninjured in the collision.
Funeral Mass took place at noon on Thursday and burial took place at Murrisk Abbey Cemetery.
