A large garda operation was carried out on Tuesday morning in connection to serious incidents which occurred in the Castlebar area the following Monday night, where criminal damage was caused to a house and cars were set alight.
Sixteen gardaí, backed up by the Regional Support Unit, carried out the two searches on Tuesday morning on two premises in the town.
One man was arrested in relation to the criminal damage and arson incidents. The man was later released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
During the course of the search some property and a small amount of drugs were seized.
