Minister for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring has warmly welcomed the news that the Department of Education and Skills has advised that it is now in order for the building project at Our Lady’s Secondary School in Belmullet to proceed to Stage 3 (tender action ).
“I had contacted the Minister for Education and Skills Ruairi Quinn in this regard and I am aware that part of the school building has been deemed unsafe and is deteriorating rapidly,” Minister Ring said.
“An addendum to the Stage 2B (detailed design ) was submitted to the Department earlier this year and was reviewed by the Department’s technical staff before being recently approved.
“The Department advises that it is now in order for the project to proceed to Stage 3. I am delighted that this major building project has now been given the go ahead to progress to tender stage,” concluded Minister Ring.
