The Mayo county final of Special Olympics Our School's Got Talent, in association with Supermac’s, took place in Royal Theatre Castlebar last Friday night, with 25 acts competing for a place in this year’s Connacht final.
Mayo Champion was Ethel Hoare from Davitt College Castlebar. Mount St Michael’s, Claremorris, provided the runners-up with dance group Fonn Rince and 14-year-old Sancta Maria Louisburgh student Matthew Cabot came in third place.
The next four placed acts who also qualified for the Connacht final were Charadilis; Ballyhaunis Community School; Ballinrobe Trad Group and dancer Kieran Taylor from St Muredach’s Ballina; and Killian Glynn from St Gerald’s Castlebar
All seven acts will represent Mayo in the Connacht Final in the Royal Theatre Castlebar on December 2.
