The lights are on as the new Lidl in Westport works towards its opening date of November 24 next, adding a new discount retailer to the town and creating 15 new jobs in the process.
It is anticipated the new store at the Newport Road side of town will create a movement of extra traffic into the Demesne road which leads on to Hotel Westport and Westport House.
John Fadden, store manager for the new Westport store, said, “I am really looking forward to welcoming all of the Westport locals to our new store. Lidl are delighted to be eventually opening in Westport, especially after just celebrating our 11th year in Ireland. We have many exciting activities planned for the opening and it promises to be a great local event for all the family”.
