A men’s health information evening will be held in the Manor Hotel, Ballina, on Monday November 14 at 7.30pm. This evening is jointly organised by the Ballina Family Resource Centre, Health Service Executive and the Ballina Lions Club.
The focus of the evening is to increase awareness amongst men of health issues generally and to provide a range of information on prevention and services available. The evening will be introduced and chaired by well known Mayo Senior Footballer and All-Star Andy Moran. Speakers on the evening include Paul Gillan from the HSE Health Promotion Department, Garrett Durkan, Consultant Urologist, University College Hospital, Galway and Dr WBH Brunker, local family doctor and President of the Ballina Lions Club.
The evening will also include free health screening, which includes blood pressure and blood sugar checks, general health advice and a range of organisations will have information stands, including Croí, the Mayo Cancer Support Group, the Marie Keating Foundation and other services.
