The coastguard helicopter was involved in a rescue off Croagh Patrick at the weekend.
It is understood that two women from Portlaoise were rescued from the holy mountain on Saturday after they stumbled and sustained injuries.
One was a 16-year-old girl and the other a woman in her thirties.
The two were part of a group on their way down the mountain when the incident occurred at approximately 2.30pm.
Mayo Mountain Rescue came to the injured parties’ assistance. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
