Westport Country Market is delighted to announce extended opening hours. The market will now be open from 8.30am to 2pm every Thursday in response to customer demand. Locals are clamouring to visit the market during lunchtime and as usual, the stallholders are happy to oblige.
When Westport Country Market moved to their new home in the Pete Callaghan Centre (Boxing Club ) in the James Street Car Park, they had no idea how popular the move would be. If you’ve never been to Westport Country Market before, now is the time to get down there and find your way around, before the Christmas rush begins. Everyone is welcome to come and browse through the fresh and organic vegetables, home baking, farm fresh eggs, preserves and jams, handmade jewellery and crafts, stone carving, fishing flies, felt bags, flowers and of course the nationally famous woven baskets made from milk cartons.
“Shopping as it should be” is how the Bridgestone Good Food Guide describes Westport Country Market, now in its 20th successful year. It’s no wonder the market is a perennial favourite with locals and visitors alike, in addition to well-known foodies such as Darina Allen, Paul Rankin and Tamasin Day Lewis.
The market also serves coffees, teas and light lunches. Advance orders can be made with Stephani on 086 852 8681.
