The licensee of a pub in Ballina was convicted and fined at Ballina District Court this week as five people were found drinking on the premises after closing time.
On May 29, gardaí entered Tommy Cooke’s Bar, Hill Street, Ballina at 2.40am, where five people were present with fresh drink in front of them.
The licensee of the bar, Tommy Cooke, was not present at the time, but his manager was.
The defendant has no previous convictions and the court heard that the manager no longer works there.
Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined Cooke €300.
