Consultations have taken place between Mayo County Council and the National Traveller Consultation Group over the issue of Travellers parking in Knock during the summer Novena season.
Independent Claremorris based councillor Richard Finn asked at the Claremorris Electoral Area Committee for an update on the situation. Senior executive officer for Mayo County Council Padraig Flanagan told the meeting: “There have been consultations with the National Traveller Consultation Group over this issue following on from meetings with the local Traveller group. We have made them aware of the issues and of the locals views and they have had submissions from them on it. There is another meeting with the local group next week and we hope to see substantive progress in the next few weeks.”
