The Irish Heart Foundation (IHF ) is urging the people of Mayo to get checked for high blood pressure on Thursday October 20, between 11am and 3pm, at the Lidl store in Castlebar.
The IHF and Lidl Ireland urge the people of Mayo not to be complacent about the major cause of stroke and heart attack – get it measured this October.
According to the Irish Heart Foundation 60 per cent of men and women aged over 45 have the condition. Of those with high blood pressure, 70 per cent still have higher levels than recommended, despite being on medication.
Lidl Ireland is urging customers and members of the public to watch out for the Blood Pressure Roadshow mobile unit coming to major stores around the country manned by Irish Heart Foundation nurses.
