Get your rocks off for Castlebar Music Festival Fundraiser

Tomorrow night Saturday, October 15, three local bands will get together to support the Castlebar music festival 2012 for a fundraising rock night taking place at the clubhouse in Castlebar Celtic. You can expect to see three local bands play including Strayed, Layne County, and Race The Flux, plus also look out for lots of drinks promotions on the night.

Strayed are a four piece band made up of Brendan Staunton, Darren Keaveney, Richard Cresham, and Chris Staunton. Strayed have been busy gigging around the west and have forthcoming gigs in Dublin. The exciting four piece band are known for their catchy upbeat rock songs, their debut single ‘Things You Like To Do’ was released in June and is for sale in the music megastore in Castlebar and iTunes, also their debut video is up on YouTube. Their eagerly anticipated next single will be out shortly, the hard working band are looking forward to what the future has in store for them.

Also on the night you can check out local band Layne County, this group play an edgy mix of folk/country-rock infused with dark poetic lyricism and an ability to rock-out. Hailing from the west, this four-piece bring an emotive energy to the stage. Their unique sound demarcates the territory which is Layne County.

Race the Flux are an ambitious rock and electronic four piece from the west of Ireland, formed in 2008. Utilising chunky synthesisers, dramatic piano, innovative guitar and bass phrasing, and the use of electric and acoustic drums they forged a new and fresh sound. After spending the year writing, they are currently touring Ireland with their dynamic set. They have recently finished recording their four track debut EP and it is to be released in the near future.

So come out and support a great night of live music at the clubhouse in Castlebar Celtic tomorrow (Saturday ) night, by doing you will be supporting a great cause for The Castlebar Music Festival in 2012. Doors open at 9pm, first band play at 9.30pm sharp. Admission is €7 on the night. A great night of live music is planned for a really good cause.
