The Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG ), a group of executives and technology leaders headquartered in Silicon Valley, and focused on helping Irish start-up companies, is leading a delegation of high level executives and investors to Dublin.
At the fourth annual ITLG “Silicon Valley Comes to Ireland” event, the group will engage with a number of Irish emerging technology companies in a series of private investor workshops at Dublin City University. Ten companies will be chosen to present at the annual ITLG Innovation Awards in California in spring 2012.
A Mayo software company, eSports Manager, is one of the finalists to be showcased. eSports Manager is a spin out company from 21st Century Web Design which is located in the Barcastle Industrial Park at Moneen in Castlebar.
eSports Manager (eSM ) uses web and mobile technology to reduce work for sports administrators and keep sports players and enthusiasts informed. It is Ireland’s largest provider of sports software.
eSM is delighted to have come to the attention of the ITLG. Seamus Kyne, managing director, explains: “The ITLG is a formidable group and with contacts in some of the biggest companies in the world it can open many doors for Irish companies.” ITLG executives and high-net worth individuals include the chairman of the board of Intel, senior vice president of Cisco, vice president of Intel, and former Mayor of San Jose, California.
21st Century Web Design developed eSports Manager which is now used by 60 per cent of sports clubs in Ireland. It will manage 3,800 club competitions and 70,000 fixtures this year.
The company also develops websites for a national audience. “We were recently asked to design a website for one of Dublin’s top restaurants, the Derry Clarke Michelin Star l'Ecrivain Restaurant, and the very successful Atir Shapewear, an Irish on-line shop selling shapewear,” says Vivienne Kyne, director. In Mayo its latest websites include Eddie Egan Jewellers, Nephin Halls, and Mayo Leisure Point.
