All across Ireland, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is organising local walks through its network of volunteers and is inviting you to bring along your friends, family, and dogs to get active in your community and support its work. A 5k walk will be taking place in the Castlebar area and will kick off at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday ) at the County Council Car Park.
People can support the fundraising by purchasing a high visibility band for themselves and their dogs. They are a great safety accessory, especially as days get shorter and darker.
Meanwhile a campaign by Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is calling on all motorists to consider where they park in order to avoid posing a risk to pedestrians with impaired vision.
