The traffic corps is being asked by Inspector Joe McKenna to “pay a visit to Westport” following claims that car enthusiasts are gathering near the roundabout on Altamount Street, which is leading to residents not having a “good night’s sleep” due to the noise of loud exhausts.
Inspector McKenna said at a joint policing committee meeting this week that the county has new equipment which monitors exhaust sounds and tinted windows, and he said that he would ask the traffic corps to investigate.
