Samaritan’s Purse is launching its annual children’s charity project, Operation Christmas Child, from October 1 onwards with a new manager, Nicola Wilson, in charge in Ireland.
“ We send thousands of shoeboxes filled with toys and other small gifts to children living in very difficult conditions and this year our shoeboxes will again go to Haiti. To help us continue to grow Operation Christmas Child in Mayo we are hoping to extend the network of volunteers and churches to help us organise the collection of donated shoeboxes. We are also looking for premises throughout Ireland to act as our warehouses where the shoeboxes will be brought for checking and packing before being sent to Haiti”, Nicola said.
