There was great news this week for shoppers in Claremorris when it was announced that they can now park on-street for 10 minutes before they have to pay for a parking ticket.
Welcoming the news, chamber president Eugene Waldron said: “The Chamber of Commerce wish to acknowledge Mayo County Council in granting 10 minutes on-street free parking in the town. This will assist in maintaining and increasing the footfall to the town centre.” In particular, the chamber thanked local councillors Richard Finn and Tom Connolly.
Also, in another positive move, any parking ticket bought from any machine on the street is valid on every street in Claremorris for the duration of the ticket.
