The deadline for nominations for the Google Silver Surfer Awards with Age Action is fast approaching. The public has until September 9 to nominate a Mayo older person who has embraced technology, or somebody who has empowered him/her to do so.
Google and Age Action are looking for people who have shown a commitment to getting online whether they drive their family and friends to distraction with endless tweets, status updates, photo uploading and Skype calls, or those who are only making their first steps in the online world. There are seven award categories this year. The public can nominate someone for an award by filling in a form online at www.ageaction.ie/silversurfer or by phoning Ciara on 01 475 6989. Closing date for nominations is Friday September 2.
