Kristen Sheeran from Castlebar was one of four Irish teenagers who returned from Munich on Sunday after attending the Allianz Junior Football Camp hosted by FC Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena from August 17 to 21. Over the five day football experience Kristen gained a unique insight into the world of elite level sport and the behind the scenes running of a world class stadium as well as honing her football skills under some of Europe’s finest football coaches.
Some 2,500 teenagers from 16 different countries including Ireland, Brazil, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Portugal applied for one of 50 slots in the Allianz Junior Football camp. Kristen was joined by three boys, from Derry, Longford, and Cork.
Not only did the four strong team of Irish teenagers rub shoulders with Bayern Munich players and management but they got to watch FC Bayern v Hamburger SV live in the 69,000 seat Allianz Arena on Saturday August 21.
