Winners of the Mayo Emigrant Liaison Committee’s Irish Diaspora Awards will be honoured at the awards ceremony on September 9 in Castlebar.
Six awards will be presented, with recipients being Sir Patrick Duffy, Doncaster; Tommy Walsh, Liverpool; John Kennedy, Manchester; London St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee; Mayo Associations Dublin and Galway (Mayo World Convention award ); and a special joint award will go to Bobby McDonagh, Irish Ambassador to Great Britain, and Julian King, British Ambassador to Ireland.
The awards ceremony will take place in the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, at 8pm. Music will be by the Brose Walsh Band.
