Gardaí at Claremorris are investigating a two car fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N17 at Lisduff on the Ballindine to Claremorris road at approximately 4.50pm last Saturday.
A 38-year-old male driver of one of the cars, David McCorry from Salthill, Galway, was fatally injured.
His wife, who was a passenger in the car with him, was also injured in the collision, as was the male driver (33 ) of the other car.
Garda forensic collision investigators closed the road for an examination.
