Castlebar businesses invited to launch of Chamber’s 2020 Vision

Castlebar Chamber is launching its Vision 2020 at TF Royal Theatre on Monday night November 10 and they have issued an open invitation to the business community of the town to attend. This will be an exciting event including the presentation of the Vision 2020 and associated projects and displays by partners and local businesses.

At such a critical time for the economy and all businesses the 2020 Vision is an investment in the future of Castlebar. It has never been more important that businesses and key partners worked closely together with a shared vision of what Castlebar should look like in 2020.

The Vision 2020 will focus on key strengths of Castlebar and set out plans for their future development in conjunction with key partners e.g. Mayo County Council, Enterprise Ireland, GMIT, local developers, etc.

Work on the project commenced in December 2007 and has involved 45 business people contributing across four main consultation panels. There has been wide consultation with businesses and partners accompanied with studies of successful Irish and UK towns.

The result is a clear strategy and set of objectives for the key development areas and a list of projects to achieve the objectives.

The strategy will mark a departure from the old traditional role of the Chamber.

The new roles will include a much wider remit from delivering business services to working with other strategic partners to make the town a more business friendly environment and driving major projects such as a transformation of the old core of the town.

Castlebar Chamber are urging everyone in the wider business community and partner agencies to support this innovative programme and in the first instance join them for the launch on Monday night November 10 at 7.30pm.
