A 21-year-old Castlebar man who was detected drink driving on the October Bank Holiday Monday was convicted, fined and disqulafied at Castlebar District Court this week.
Simon Flynn, 21 Lake Shore Drive, Castlebar pleaded guilty to drink driving at 9.10 am on October 27 after a breath sample showed 75mg of alcohol to 100ml of breath.
Judge Mary Devins asked the apprentice plumber what time he had finsihed drinking the night before, to which she was told 3am or 4am. Judge Devins said that “five hours later you were still over the legal limit” and convicted and fined Flynn €500 and disqualified him from driving for three years.
