Hotel Newport is getting into the festival spirit this Bank Holiday weekend as the Newport Grainne Uaile Festival gets under way on Thursday evening. With something for everyone, festival goers can see boat flotillas, vintage car parades, and dance and sport acts. There will also be children’s entertainment and activities throughout the weekend and live open air music every evening. The official launch of The Greenway also takes place on Friday July 29, by Taoiseach Enda Kelly who will be welcomed to Newport by Festival Queen Joanne O’Donnell.
Hotel Newport will be on hand serving delicious meals and refreshments throughout the weekend, and will conclude each evening with two entertainment acts. Everyone is welcome to join them in the Seven Arches Bar for some foot stomping, hand clapping craic, and then go on through to The Abbey Suite when doors open at approximately 10.30pm.
Friday evening will showcase The King of Country Mick Flavin – a global name in the country music scene. Saturday will host Michael O’Brien and Philomena, and is the last, but not least in the Country Dance Series hosted by Hotel Newport this summer.
Finally on Sunday evening there will be a disco playing everyone’s favourites to finish the dance series and festival with a bang.
