Mayo and District Motorsport Club is holding an 'Introduction to Motorsport' event in Crossmolina today (Friday ) from 7pm as part of the 2011 Crossmolina Festival. The gathering will allow members of the public a chance to see competition cars from local competitors up close and is an ideal opportunity for people looking to get involved in motorsport but not sure how to start, to meet with competitors and members of the motor club who will be on hand to offer advice and practical tips.
Among the selection of competition cars that will be on display will be rally and autocross cars including Escorts, Imprezas, a BMW M3, Honda Civics, and a Toyota Corolla. There will also be a drift car on show, as well as racing karts from local competitors Terence Corcoran and Brian Moore. There will also be a selection of road going show cars on display.
