Heritage open cottage event

Age old Farming traditions and pastimes from the 1930’s are revisited this Saturday July 23 from 1pm to 6pm, as part of the Heritage day in Jack’s Cottage in Derrycoorane, Islandeady.

Joe and Irene Moylette have opened their beautifully restored heritage cottage, which includes artefacts and features from the turn of the century and is free to all to visit. Joe and Irene have also organised a huge array of special events and features for their open day, from 1pm to 6pm including, a working poitin still, home baking on the open stove, wool spinning and dyeing, basket weaving, hay making and a working tin smith.
