Ballina lady Deirdre Ruane is organising a number of trips to Ethiopia in conjunction with third world development agency VITA.
Part adventure of a lifetime, and part responsible tourism, all three trips to Ethiopia will include the cultural sights of Addis Ababa, and visits to local Vita projects.
For the less adventurous why not join in one of the sponsored walks or cycles in the West of Ireland?
On Saturday July 23, Castlebar tour guide Brían Hoban is leading The Killary Harbour Famine Walk. This is a relatively easy walk of approximately 10KM along the southern shore of Klllary harbour along the Green Road.
From Friday August 19th to Sunday August 21, Jim Henry of Sláinte Ireland Tours, Ballina will lead the three-day challenge along the Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail. This is a moderate to strenuous walk of some 60KM stretching from Balla in East Mayo to Murrisk.
If you prefer to cycle, on Saturday August 13 there will be a sponsored cycle on the Great Western Greenway from Newport to Mulranny.
Join Vita on one of our sponsored walks and at the same time help us to build sustainable livelihoods for families in Africa.
