Louise Connor, who came second at the Irish National Hairdressing finals in the Junior Upstyle category, is a staff member with Allure Hairdressing, Ballina.
Connor began hairdressing while in school where she worked part-time and at weekends in order to save for college. In 2009 she was employed by Allure where she gained excellent training.
Connor was interested in taking part in hairdressing competitions, particularly in the upstyling section. In March of this year she entered the Irish National finals, and she would like to thank all the help and training she received in the salon from Martha Galvin. She also wants to thank her model Jessica, for all her patience, both throughout the process and through the many hours of practice that went into the competition. There were 44 competitors from all over Ireland and all her family were ecstatic when they heard the result.
The process was really tiring, but also so rewarding as she got to broaden her horizons and see styles from all over Europe throughout the competition. Connor said that she could not have done it without the superb and ongoing training received in Allure from Martha and her external training courses. Connor is looking forward to competing again in 2012 in the Junior Section and adding to the accolades of the excellent Allure staff.
