Quigley wins Galway critirum

Western Lakes Cycling Club launched its line up of sponsors recently and Mark Quigley from Partry got the club off to a flier by winning the Galway City Critirum. The Galway City Critirum involves racing through the streets on a short circuit at high speed for one hour.

Quigley, who has returned to form after a few years away from the sport, used his experience and skill to win an eight man sprint to the line which finished at the Claddagh. The South Mayo/North Galway based cycling club, organises a vast array of events throughout the year for its 100 members, the Polkadot challenge and Ballinrobe two day are the club's flagship events which draw huge numbers to the area each year. Quigley’s win was the perfect start for the sponsors, Mc Hales Farm Machinery, Bridge Signs, Marrey Bikes, Cummins SuperValu, and Inch's bar Ballinrobe The club is indebted to them, especially in the hard economic time that we have.
