Training for business owners on how to leverage social media

“Social media is essential to every business at the moment and is a low cost form of advertising and promoting events.” That is according to David Glynn of the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris. The hotel has partnered up with renowned trainer Fiona Ashe to provide a one-day seminar on “7 Top Ways To Leverage Social Media” to benefit business owners in the west of Ireland.

New research shows that Irish consumers are spending almost the same amount of time online as watching TV every day and much of this is via smartphone access (source: AMAS ). The dominance of social networking is evident: the number of LinkedIn users in Ireland is now close to half a million and the number of Irish Facebook accounts is five times greater than in January 2009.

“We’re living in a world where consumers seek opinions from other internet users before making purchasing decisions,” says Fiona Ashe of FlasheForward Communications. “This is even more pronounced in the current economic environment where people want guarantees that they will get value for money. Social media platforms provide businesses with a way to nurture relationships with their customers and establish an online community of brand advocates.”

This training will break down the complex world of social media into implementable actions and help local businesses to find the right social media tools for them. Places are limited to 40 and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to those who book online through the following link: www.eventelephant.com/7topwaystoleveragesocialmedia The event takes place on June 29 and early booking is advisable.

Fiona Ashe is a social media consultant and trainer with FlasheForward Communications. She delivers training courses to SMEs through County Enterprise Boards, Chambers of Commerce and business networks.
