Le Chéile Family Resource Centre (FRC ) celebrated Bealtaine in style by having a coffee morning for the community on May 30. Bealtaine provides the opportunity to celebrate creativity in older age and Castlebar’s Le Chéile FRC did just that. The coffee morning was officially started by Mayor of Castlebar Councillor Gerard Deere. The crowd were entertained by Mayo’s finest Politically Correct, and Tommy Fleming dropped by for a sing-song and a cup of tea. The whole event was broadcast live on the Johnny Oosten show on Castlebar Community Radio.
Chairperson of the FRC Tereasa Carney was delighted so many people turned out for the coffee morning and she welcomed them with open arms and encouraged participation in future upcoming events at Le Chéile FRC. Dolores McSharry, project co-ordinator, was grateful to all the guests who gave their time to help celebrate creativity in older age.
