The Mayo International Enterprise Fund, set up to develop business in the county, has recently donated a figure of €60,000 to help a number of indigenous businesses with promoting and marketing.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the fund, held in conjunction with the Mayo World Convention in Westport.
The fund was established after the 1995 Mayo World Convention in Philadelphia, and over the years has provided low-interest loans to start-up companies in the county.
“We were delighted at the meeting in Westport to be able to support these companies with promotion and marketing. A total of 12 projects have been approved for support since the fund was established, and all 12 are now operating successfully,” said Enterprise Fund chairman Donal Downes.
“The fund is always happy to support innovation in Mayo, and we welcome applications at all times. On an ongoing basis, we are looking at applications.”
